Edinburgh Napier University เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยของสกอตแลนด์ที่ก่อตั้งมาตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 1964 โดยมหาลัยมีชื่อเรียกตามผู้ก่อตั้งนั่นก็คือ John Napier โดยรูปปั้นของเขานั้นได้ ตั้งอยู่ที่ Merchiston Castle (ที่ Merchiston campus) เดิมมีชื่อว่า Napier University ภายหลังจึงเปลียนชื่อมาเป็น Edinburgh Napier University ในปัจจุบัน
มหาวิทยาลัยมีทั้งหมด 3 วิทยาเขตหลักได้แก่ Merchiston, Craiglockhart และ Sighthill เมือง Edinburgh ซึ่งเป็นเมืองหลวงของประเทศสก๊อตแลนด์ หรือที่เราเรียกว่า เมืองเอดินบะระ ปัจจุบันมีนักเรียนมากกว่า 20,000 คนมากกว่า 100 ประเทศทั่วโลก

International Stage One หรือ International Foundation Year
โปรแกรม International Stage One หรือ International Foundation Year ที่ Edinburgh Napier University เป็นหลักสูตรสำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ รวมถึงนักศึกษาไทยที่ต้องการเรียนต่อระดับปริญญาตรีที่ประเทศสกอตแลนด์ เนื่องจากการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาของประเทศไทยใช้เวลาเรียนน้อยกว่าประเทศ สกอตแลนด์ 1 ปี นักศึกษาไทยจึงถูกกำหนดให้ต้องเรียนหลักสูตร International Stage One 1 ปีก่อนเพื่อปรับความรู้ ทั้งนี้ไม่ได้ทำให้เสียเวลาเรียนแต่อย่างใด เพราะเมื่อเรียนโปรแกรม International Stage One จบก็จะสามารถต่อระดับปริญญาตรีเพียงอีกแค่ 3 ปีเท่านั้น
หลักเกณฑ์ในการรับสมัคร
- จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ย 2.30+
- จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ย 2.00+
- IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component.
