Queen Mary University of London ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปีค.ศ. 1887 มหาวิทยาลัยได้เข้าร่วมเป็น University of London ในปีค.ศ.1915

Queen Mary University of London จัดเป็นหนึ่ง​ในวิทยาลัยที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในบรรดาเครือ University of London มีจำนวนนักศึกษาที่ลงทะเบียนกว่า 20,000 คน ทั้งในระดับปริญญาตรี โท และเอก นับว่าเป็นหนึ่งในมหาวิทยาลัยที่มีการแข่งขันสูงในการรับสมัครเข้าเรียน อีกทั้ง Queen Mary ยังเป็นวิทยาลัยแห่งเดียวในเครือUniversity of London ที่เป็น campus-based university ซึ่งมีพื้นที่สำหรับการเรียนการสอน ที่พัก ห้องสมุด ศูนย์อาหาร ฯลฯ ที่ตั้งอยู่ภายในบริเวณเดียวกัน

Queen Mary University of London เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่มียังมีชื่อเสียงด้านวิชาการและผลงานการวิจัยสาขาต่างๆ อย่างกว้างขวางในประเทศสหราชอาณาจักร มีวิทยาเขตครอบคลุมทั้งในใจกลางและทางด้านตะวันออกของกรุงลอนดอน ประกอบด้วยวิทยาเขตหลักที่ย่าน Mile End วิทยาเขต Whitechapel ซึ่งเป็นที่ตั้งของ The Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, วิทยาเขต Lincoln’s Inn Fields ซึ่งทำการเรียนการสอนด้านกฎหมายเป็นการเฉพาะ

International Foundation Year 

โปรแกรม International Foundation Year ของ Queen Mary University of London เป็นหลักสูตรสำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ รวมถึงนักศึกษาไทยที่ต้องการเรียนต่อระดับปริญญาตรีที่ประเทศอังกฤษ เนื่องจากการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาของประเทศไทยใช้เวลาเรียนน้อยกว่าประเทศ อังกฤษ 1 ปี นักศึกษาไทยจึงถูกกำหนดให้ต้องเรียนหลักสูตร Foundation 1 ปีก่อนเพื่อปรับความรู้  ทั้งนี้ไม่ได้ทำให้เสียเวลาเรียนแต่อย่างใด เพราะมหาวิทยาลัยของอังกฤษใช้เวลาเรียนในระดับปริญญาตรีเพียง 3 ปีเท่านั้น สำหรับหลักสูตร International Foundation Year ของ Queen Mary University of London นั้นจะเปิดสอนที่ Kaplan International College London

หลักเกณฑ์ในการรับสมัคร

• จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยสะสม GPA 2.75
• จบมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ด้วยเกรดเฉลี่ยสะสม GPA 2.50
• IELTS 5.5 (at least 4.5 in all skills)
